Rainy days

Anyone who has been following my stream on flickr, has read my complaints about the never ending rains on summer, or late afternoon rains. It’s not that it’s a bad thing in itself, the only things that bother me is that stuff won’t dry and it gets me in a super lazy mode. But rainy days are great for photography, just like any other day… and this past sunday I felt like going around a bit for shoots.

Qualquer pessoa seguindo meu trabalho no flickr, deve ter lido alguma reclamação minha sobre as chuvas intermináveis de verão, ou chuva de fim de tarde. Não que seja uma coisa ruim por si mesma, as únicas coisas que me incomodam é que nada seca direito e essa chuva me deixa em “modo de preguiça”. Mas dias chuvosos são ótimos para fotografia, assim como qualquer outro dia… e esse domingo passado eu estava afim de passear para fotografar.

It’s usually the same routine: It gets really windy, they it gets really dark. Then there are a few drops falling… and then it’s tempestuous!!

Geralmente é a mesma rotina: Começa a ventar forte, daí escurece o céu. Então alguns pingos caem… e daí caí a tempestade!!

Which lasts 10 minutes…

There by the road, in the middle of absolute nowhere… they are building a church. Only the tower has been erected, so it looks quite intriguing and it can be seen from many miles away.

Perto da estrada, no meio do absoluto nada… estão construindo uma igreja. Apenas a torre foi construída, então é um cenário intrigante que pode ser visto muitos quilômetros de distância.

I have had this photo in my mind for quite sometime now… again, a touch of inspiration coming from “The Turn of the Screw”. I have a thing about that book. But this one holds more meaning then what I usually do, when inspired by that novel.

Há há algum tempo que eu tenho essa foto em mente… novamente, com um toque de inspiração vindo de “A volta do parafuso”. Mas essa foto tem um pouco mais de significado do que as outras fotos inspiradas por esse livro.
