Some time ago I traveled to Campo Mourão to shoot some new faces books. While there, we took the chance to shoot two editorials. The first is the one that follows.

Há algum tempo atrás eu viajei a Campo Mourão para fotografar alguns books de new faces. Enquanto estava por lá, nós aproveitamos a chance para fotografar dois editoriais. O primeiro é o que segue.

Sometimes I wake up feeling very thankful to the people who have really helped me in my profession, who gave me a chance and a vowel of trust and who are truly a pleasure to work with, which seems to be such a rare thing these days. One of these person whom I feel grateful to is Manuela Moreira Touma. She’s the boss at Glam4U and also set this photoshoot for Bianca Toledo’s promotional video and book cover. In this photoshoot I also had the chance to meet another two fantastic people: Samuel Rose Machado and his wife Mariana Ilkiu Coelho. They are some of the most amazing video makers I ever saw and also great great people! Às vezes eu acordo me sentindo muito agradecida pelas pessoas que realmente me ajudaram na minha profissão, que me deram uma change e voto de confiança e são verdadeiramente um prazer de se trabalhar junto… Uma dessas pessoas a quem eu sou muito grata é a Manuela Moreira Touma. Ela é a chefe da Glam4U e foi ela quem organizou esse ensaio para o video promocional e capa do livro da Bianca Toledo. Nesse ensaio eu também tive o prazer de conhecer outras duas pessoas fantásticas: Samuel Rose Machado e sua esposa Mariana Ilkiu Coelho. Beauty Portraits

Sometime ago, I lost two big jobs because the potential clients thought I wouldn’t be able to do studio beauty portraits, since I had none of such in my portifolio… So I took a few to ~~show’em it’s no rocket science and that if they had hired me, their photos would look much better~~ have them nice and neat on my portifolio.

Há algum tempo atrás eu perdi dois trabalhos grandes porque os clientes em potencial acharam que eu não seria capaz de fazer fotos de beleza em estúdio, já que eu não tinha nenhuma foto assim no meu portifolio… Então eu fiz algumas para ~~mostrar para eles que se você entende de luz você faz foto em qualquer lugar e situação e se eles tivesse me contratado, as fotos teriam ficado muito melhor~~ tê-las bem bonitinhas no meu portifolio.

A couple of months ago, I shot Victoria Mazzeo for the second time. (If you wish, you can see the first photoshoot here). She’s a sweet lovely girl, but afflicted by many serious problems. Her parents thought that doing a second shoot (since the second did help a lot) would lift her spirits, but this time the problems run too deep. By looking at her, one would never tell… I do hope she recovers from these dark times…

Há alguns meses atrás, eu fotografei a Victoria Mazzeo pela segunda vez. (Se quiserem, vocês podem ver o primeiro ensaio aqui) . Ela é uma fofa e querida, mas afligida por muitos problemas sérios. Seus pais acharam que fazer um segundo ensaio (já que o primeiro realmente ajudou) levantariam seu astral, mas com problemas tão sérios, não é um ensaio divertido que vai resolver… espero que ela encontre forças para sair desse período de trevas…

ANNAWON

Annawon means “chief” or “leader” in the Algonquian-Wakashan language and it’s also a nice wordplay with my name. I had been nurturing the desire to do this photoshoot for so long and back on January we finally did it! Stefanie (the model) knew some people who trained falcons to reduce the pidgeon’s population in my city, so I got in touch with them… the trainer was super kind and agreed on going to the abandoned quarry with us. I just wish Uzi (the beautiful falcon) could have stayed a little longer with us. They had to go somewhere else after only half an hour into the shooting. It was a great day nonetheless, we had lots of fun and the photos turned out beautiful!

Annawon significa “chefe” ou “líder” na língua Algonquian-Wakashan e também é uma brincadeira interessante com o meu nome. Eu estava nutrindo o desejo de fazer esse ensaio há tanto tempo e em Janeiro nós finalmente conseguimos fazer! Stefanie (a modelo) conhecia algumas pessoas que treinam falcões para reduzir a população de pombos na minha cidade, então eu entrei em contato com eles… o treinador foi super gentil em concordar em ir à pedreira abandonada conosco. Eu só queria que a Uzi (a linda falcão) tivesse ficado conosco um pouco mais. Eles tiverem que ir embora apenas meia hora depois de termos começado a fotografar. Foi um dia ótimo de qualquer forma, nos divertimos muito e as fotos ficaram muito bonitas!

For these photos, we had a big team, which made it lots of fun. But I must say Dario did a great job with the styling and Stefanie rocked the poses!

Para essas fotos, tivemos uma grande equipe, o que fez ficar tudo mais divertido. Mas eu tenho que dizer que o Dario arrasou no styling e a Stefanie mandou muito bem nas poses!

Into the Wild – Glam4U Winter Collection

The Manu Boutique usually creates three collections for each season, this was the second we shot, in a landscape similar to what one would expect to see when going to a safari. We shot the catalog and lookbook on location, and as usual it’s great fun to be around this team, but by God how suffered under the scorching sun! We started shooting at noon and there was not a tree around, not a merciful cloud to bring the slightest relief. Camila was a super trooper and saved the day, no harsh sun put her energy down. Manu was the same. The energy they displayed through out the day is commendable!

A Boutique Manu geralmente lança três coleções em cada estação, esta foi a segunda que fotografamos, em um ambiente que lembra um pouco o de um safari. Fotografamos o catálogo e lookbook na locação, e como sempre foi muito divertido estar às voltas dessa equipe, mas por Deus como nós sofremos com o sol quente! Nós começamos a fotografar ao meio-dia e não havia nenhuma árvore ou nuvem misericordiosa para trazer algum alento.

This collection is so beautiful! I want it all!

Há algum tempo atrás, um dia bonito, pessoas agradáveis. Editorial e lookbook para para a coleção de Inverno/Pre-Fall 2013 para Glam4U.

Like I mentioned before, we don’t suffer hard winter. It never snows here and when it make to the news when temperatures go a couple of degrees bellow zero. So, this year, Manu’s collection is lovely, elegant and romantic. Somewhat inspired by Chanel, Birkins, Hermès and other classic brands.

Como eu já havia mencionado antes, nós não sofremos um inverno muito rigoroso. Então esse ano, a coleção da Boutique Manu é elegante, bonita e romântica. Com alguma inspiração nas marcas clássicas como Chanel, Birkins, Hermès, entre outras.
