São Paulo

Boy, this year’s last weeks are full of traveling! This time I was in São Paulo for the weekend to do two photographic jobs, but one ended up not happening because of the city’s shitty weather. It rained everyday, but on sunday we had little break from the deluge and we managed to do a few photos for another book cover. When I arrived in the city, the first thing I did was to meet up with Levi Cruz to go to Sebastião Salgado’s Exhibition. He’s a photographer as well and an absolute delight of a person! It was a great pleasure to meet him and spend some time together.

Cara, esse fim de ano está cheio de viagens! Desta vez eu estava em São Paulo para fazer dois trabalhos, mas um acabou não rolando por conta do tempo porcaria na cidade. Choveu todos os dias, mas no domingo tivemos uma trégua no dilúvio e deu para fazer algumas fotos para a capa de mais um livro. Quando eu cheguei na cidade, a primeira coisa que eu fiz foi me encontrar com o Levi Cruz para ir à exposição Gênesis, de Sebastião Salgado. O Levi é um fotógrafo também e é uma delícia de pessoa! Foi um prazer encontrá-lo e passar um tempo com ele.

After that, I went to the 25th of March Street, to search for somethings for photoshoots. That’s an infamous street and that was a very stupid idea of mine. There was nothing there that could possibly interest me. And it was raining and I was carrying my camera… I soon gave up on it and went to the City’s Market and well, that’s a much pleasant place to spend time. After that I met some other super cool friends for a little chat over coffee.

Depois da exposição, fui na 25 de Março procurar algumas coisas para fazer produção para fotos. Que idéia de jerico, essa minha. Lá não tinha nada que me interessasse. E estava chovendo e eu carregando minha camera… Desisti depois de entrar em algumas lojas e fui no Mercado Municipal. Lugar muito mais interessante para passar o tempo. Depois disso me encontrei com outras pessoas mara para conversar e tomar café.

After the coffee, they took me to the Shopping JK Iguatemi, where I was supposed to meet my friend who was hosting me. When he told me to wait for him at the shopping mall, I was like: “uuughh… shopping mall, what a bore” but when I got there and the dawning of  understanding came upon me it got me singing:

 lol… a deslumbrada… mas é sério, tenho que ficar rica logo, eu preciso do casaco vermelho da Miu Miu na minha vida!

It was the shopping mall with the big brands! Ladurée, Miu Miu, Chanel, Louboutin, Burberry, Dolce & Gabanna,  Hugo Boss, etc!! I seriously need to get rich already! I just need Miu Miu’s red trendy coat/long jacket!

11 da noite e o bicho tomando sorvete com panetone, chantilly e calda de morango… falo nada rs

Bruno is a really gifted person and great cook too. They kept spoiling me with good food! haha

My friends live in Morumbi, a posh neighborhood right next the Paraisópolis slum. And that’s the weather greeting me every day while I was there.

Meus amigos moram no Morumbi, um bairro de classe média alta, do lado da favela de Paraisópolis. E essa era a cara do tempo durante os dias que estive lá.
