Schloss Charlottenburg

So, on my last day in Berlin I went back to Charlottenburg Palace to see its inside. The palace was inaugurated in 1699 and displays some exotic decoration in baroque and rococo style.

No meu último dia em Berlim eu voltei ao Palácio de Charlottenburg para ver o interior. O Palácio foi inaugurado em 1699 e apresenta uma decoração em estilo barroco e rococó bastaaaante exótico.

In school’s in Brazil we usually study a little bit of the exotiscism and fascination with distant lands, and thus the oriental influences in Europe during the romantic period. The books fell short on accounting how great was this fascination amongst the royalty.

Truth be told, some of it is just painfully tacky.

Vamo falar a verdade, muito disso tudo é dolorosamente brega.

Then there’s the chinoiserie in the porcelain room. I can’t help it but think of crazy cat ladies. It’s the same thing, but with porcelain… and lots of money.

Austria-01

At night we went to a restaurant called Austria. Not many people know but I don’t eat beef nor pork for the only reason that I don’t like the taste. But my friend Kauana said I should really really give it a try to the Wiener Schnitzel. It is a very thin, breaded and deep fried schnitzel made from veal and by God, that was good! For a person like me who doesn’t like meat much, to say it was awesome, it really’s got to be something! So if you ever go to Berlin and you like meat, have it a go with the Wiener Schnitzel! You need that in your life haha And the one they make at the restaurant is huuuuge! Barely fits the place… and there’s a delish potato salad underneath… and I ate it all…

~~~~~
À noite nós fomos a um restaurante chamado Áustria. Algumas pessoas não sabem, mas eu não como carne vermelha pelo único motivo de eu não gostar do sabor. Mas minha amiga Kauana insistiu que eu deveria provar o Wiener Schnitzel. É tipo bife à milanesa feito de vitela e por Deus, como estava bom! Para uma pessoa como eu que não gosta de carne, dizer que estava maravilhoso, é realmente um feito! Então se vocês forem a Berlim e gostam de carne, peçam esse prato! Vocês precisam disso na sua vida kkkkkk E o que eles fazem no restaurante é enooorme! Mal cabe no prato… e tem uma salada de batata furiosa embaixo do bife… e eu comi tudo… mó ogra.
And I still had room for more ice-cream 😛
E ainda teve espaço para mais sorvete 😛
