Füssen, Hohenschwangau, Neuschwanstein

So… this trip. It was a dream place for me to go, a place I thought I’d never see in my life, a place I would like to go with someone special. It was all supposed to be perfect, but it wasn’t. I won’t go into details, but Bruno’s behavior made me so sad and upset I didn’t even want to look at these pictures. Just to think about this trip, makes my stomach upset. Anyway, the place is amazing, but I will only make very few commentary in this post.

Então… essa viagem. Era um lugar dos sonhos para eu visitar, um lugar que eu pensei que nunca veria na vida, um lugar que eu gostaria de ir com alguém especial. Era para ter sido tudo perfeito, mas não foi. Eu não vou entrar em detalhes, mas o comportamento do Bruno me deixou tão triste e magoada que eu nem queria ver essas fotos. Só de pensar nessa viagem, fico com o estômago ruim. Enfim, o lugar é maravilhoso, mas eu vou apenas fazer poucos comentários nesse post.

Schloss Neuschwanstein (New Swan Stone Castle – Castelo Nova Pedra do Cisne)

Below it’s the view of the Schloss Hohenschwangau from inside Schloss Neuschwanstein. After you take the tour inside, there’s a balcony (which can be seen on the left side of the picture above) where you can take pictures. In all the palaces I visited in Berlin and Potsdam, you have to pay to get inside and you can take pictures if you pay an extra fee. I had read about it on the internet and I was prepared to chip in, because you know… if not now, when then? But in Schloss Hohenschwangau and Schloss Neuschwanstein you pay to get in, but pictures are absolutely not allowed. Maybe that’s because they are mostly impressive to be seen on the outside with the beautiful landscape around and the inside is not all that appealing and maybe people wouldn’t want to pay to visit if they knew before hand how not so grand it is compared to the other castles in Europe.

Abaixo pode-se ver o Schloss Hohenschwangau à partir de uma das sacadas do Schloss Neuschwanstein a qual você tem acesso no final do tour e de lá você pode fazer fotos da paisagem. Em todos os castelos que visitei em Berlim e Potsdam, você tem que pagar para entrar e pagar uma taxa extra se quiser tirar fotos. Eu tinha lido sobre isso na internet e estava preparada para pagar as taxas, porque sabem… se não for agora, quando então? Mas nos castelos de Hohenschwangau e Neuschwanstein você paga para entrar mas não é permitido fazer fotos. Talvez seja porque os castelos são mais bonitos de se ver de fora, com a bela paisagem ao redor e dentro não é lá aquelas coisas e talvez as pessoas não pagassem para ver se soubessem que não é tão impressionante como outros castelos na Europa.

In a matter of minutes the weather changed, it started to rain heavily and it got pretty damn cold too.

Em coisa de minutos o tempo mudou, começou a chover forte e ficou frio pra cacete também.

The beer was reeeaally good. The food was just ok.

A cerveja estava realmente muuuuuito boa. A comida estava ok.

But the dessert!! Oh GOD! haha It’s called Bavarian Cream and it’s very traditional from this region. It’s quite simple, but it’s like no other cream I had ever had. It’s vanilla cream, mango and strawberry sauce, super crunchy pistachio and fruits. Dear God in Heaven, that was delicious!

Mas a sobremesa! Meu DEUS! hahaha chama Creme da Bavária e é bem tradicional da região. É bem simples, mas nunca comi nenhum creme parecido. É creme de baunilha, calda de manga e morango, pistache super crocante e frutas. Deus do céu, estava delicioso!

Oh yeah… something important. On summer, the city is packed with tourists. We slept in Füssen, which is the town closest to Hohenschwangau. We woke up at 6 and arrived there at 7 and already there were lines forming. Below is the parking lot closest to the castles. My car is in front of the black van. As you can see, it’s a small parking lot and the other parking lots are veeery far away. So, if you are visiting the place in summer, maybe you should consider waking up early. Also, after we had visited the two castles we climbed the hill again, to try to take a few more photos of the castle, but we gave up and just got on our way to Nuremberg because there was a huuuuuuge huge line to see the castle from the bridge, while as in the morning when we got there, there were just a few people and it was very calm.

Ah é… uma coisa importante. No verão o lugar fica lotadaço de turistas. Nós dormimos em Füssen, que é uma cidade que fica a 20 minutos de Hohenschwangau. Nós acordamos às 6 e chegamos lá às 7 e já tinha filas se formando. Abaixo vocês podem ver o estacionamento mais próximo dos castelos. Meu carro está vem frente a van preta, os outros estacionamentos são muuuuuito longes. Então se vocês forem visitar o lugar no verão, considerem acordar cedo. Depois que nós havíamos visitado os dois castelos, nós subimos a colina novamente, para tentar fazer mais fotos do castelo, mas nós desistimos e pegamos estrada para Nuremberg porque havia uma fila imeeeeensa para ver o castelo a partir da ponte, enquanto que quando fomos lá de manhã haviam apenas algumas pessoas e estava bem calmo.
