Porto Seguro

It’s very cheap for brazilian people to travel to Porto Seguro. That’s the one place I’ve seen more brazilian tourists than foreigners. It’s a massified turism, lots of people everyday. On my first day I went diving on an open water reef and the depredation is sad to see. There weren’t many things to see in this dive, everything seemed bleak and at one point we “found” a mollusk’s big univalve shell. I’m pretty sure it was placed there so the turists would be “happy” at having found something different other than a few corals and fishes. In our boat, there was a guy that got into a bit of an argument with the diving instructor for not allowing him to take the shell for himself. I couldn’t believe he was serious. The lack of consciousness is alarming. In every diving activity I went in Porto Seguro, what I saw was a paradise being destroyed.

É muito barato para brasileiros viajarem para Porto Seguro. Esse foi um dos lugares onde mais vi turistas brasileiros e menos estrangeiros. É um turismo de massa, muitas pessoas todos os dias. No meu primeiro dia, eu fiz um mergulho em um recife em alto mar e a depredação é triste de se ver. Não havia muita vida marinha nesse mergulho, ao contrário do que eu vi em Paraty e Arraial do Cabo, tudo parecia desolado e sem cor e em um momento do mergulho, encontramos uma concha univalve enorme com um molusco dentro. Eu tenho quase certeza que foi colocada lá para deixar os turistas felizinhos por terem encontrado algo diferente além de alguns corais e peixes. No barco em que eu estava, tinha um cara que discutiu com o instrutor de mergulho porque este não o deixou ficar com a concha. Eu não estava acreditando que o cara estava falando sério. A falta de consciência é alarmante. Em todo mergulho que eu fiz em Porto Seguro, o que eu vi foi um paraíso sendo destruído.
